Multifaceted American jazz pianist and composer, Emmet Cohen, has emerged as one of his generation’s pivotal figures in music. A recognized prodigy, Cohen began Suzuki method piano instructions at age three, and his playing quickly became a mature melding of musicality, technique and concept.
At the Bing Studio, Cohen and his trio will join forces with jazz legend and NEA Jazz Master Sheila Jordan. At 90 years of age, Jordan is a pioneer in the world of scatting and an early adopter of singing alongside the upright bass. Jordan is the pioneer in bass/voice duo in jazz, starting in the early 1950s and continuing to the present.
