Copland Appalachian Spring

April 4–6, 2024
Benaroya Hall

Explore the many sides of Americana with this wide-ranging program. Acclaimed violinist and “one to watch” (Gramophone) Ray Chen brings the sound of old Hollywood to Seattle with Korngold’s lush Violin Concerto. From Copland, inventor of the pioneer sound, comes Appalachian Spring, an invigorating ballet that evokes the innocence of young love and the spaciousness of this land. Dorothy Chang’s Northern Star also takes inspiration from the natural world.
