ACT Theatre
established 1965
partner since 1987

Founded in 1965 by Gregory A. Falls, head of the University of Washington’s theatre department at the time, ACT is a contemporary theatre where artistic ambition and civic engagement unite. ACT envisions a world where the power of theatre expands our collective understanding of community and our own humanity. ACT produces five primary programs: Mainstage, ACTLab, Young Playwrights Program (YPP), Core Company, and the New Work initiative. ACT supports these with multiple complementary initiatives to engage audiences, develop new works and keep the art accessible.
