June 13–15, 2019

Richard Strauss takes us on a wild ride with music’s most lovable troublemaker, Till Eulenspiegel. Seattle Symphony Principal Oboe Mary Lynch performs a fresh reading of the effervescent Oboe Concerto by Strauss. In Jeux, Debussy fleshes out a kinetic tableau of tennis and other flirtatious games. The radiant Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin shines the spotlight on Wagner and his explosive, futuristic approach to the orchestra that impacted both Strauss and Debussy so profoundly.
