In the Spotlight: Bolcom, Jolley & Poteat
Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-winning composer William Bolcom’s Afternoon Cakewalk harkens back to an earlier time with a series of lively and amusing rags. Jérémy Jolley’s (contro-)clessidra ((reverse-)hourglass) explores the relationships between individuals and the community through the timbres of different instrumental and electronic duets. The performance concludes with Angelique Poteat’s flowing and oscillating work for two clarinets, Ripples of Possibilities.
