Brooklyn Rider

March 31, 2021
Bing Concert Hall

Erin Baiano

Inspired by the healing force of music, the acclaimed string quartet’s newest project moves with life-affirming vibrancy. Five composers—Reena Esmail, Gabriela Lena Frank, Matana Roberts, and Pulitzer Prize winners Caroline Shaw and Du Yun—were commissioned to create new works based on themes of health, acceptance and recovery. As the concert’s centerpiece, the quartet will also perform the slow movement of Beethoven’s Opus 132, “A Song of Holy Thanksgiving.”
