Gabriella Smith & Gabriel Cabezas

This intimate program showcases composer Gabriella Smith and Artist in Focus Gabriel Cabezas at their most elemental during the same week he performs her Lost Coast concerto with the Seattle Symphony, paired with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony in the Symphonic Series.

Gabriel Cabezas and Gabriella Smith met as freshman at the famed Curtis Institute. They immediately gravitated towards each other, and have been collaborating ever since. They released their first collaborative album, Lost Coast, in 2021 on Reykjavík-based record label Bedroom Community, which was inspired by the beauty and power of nature and the climate emergency which threatens to devastate it. The duo continues to write and record, and have performed in New York, Reykjavík and Paris.
