Needles and Opium

March 30–April 23, 2017
Toni Rembe Theater

Robert Lepage is a magical artist whose astonishing visual imagination upended world theater, from his mesmerizing Seven Streams of the River Ota to his intensely personal solo work. His Needles and Opium deals with Miles Davis, an artist close to the heart of  jazz-loving San Francisco, and with Davis’s relationship to Jean Cocteau, whose work is known and loved by the large francophone audience in the Bay Area. Lepage uses the basic tools of theater in breathtaking new ways.
