TheatreWorks had done many shows that included puppets, but David West Read’s engaging “puppet show” was entirely different; here at last was a play about the puppeteers themselves. More importantly, this dramatic comedy was about everyone who had ever suffered a deep personal loss and struggled to put back the pieces. It was about letting go, starting over, coming to grips with the past, about the power and potential and difficulty of true friendship. A jewel from TheatreWork’s New Works Festival.
