Heralded by the New York Times as one of the best theatre productions of 2019 and a work with “a tension level worthy of Hitchcock,” Is This A Room is a verbatim rendering of F.B.I. transcripts from the 2017 interrogation of former Air Force linguist Reality Winner. After a surprise interrogation at her home, she was found guilty and charged with leaking evidence of Russian interference in U.S elections. Now serving a record-breaking five-year sentence for whistle-blowing, Reality’s case was one that gripped the nation and raises the question: Why’d she blow the whistle?
In this thrilling new play, an extraordinary human drama unfolds between the complex and witty Reality and the agents who question her. Directed by Obie Award-winner Tina Satter.
