A lineup of three Hub New Music commissions includes the world premiere of to hear the things we cannot see, a collaboration between Hub musicians, composer Nina C. Young and poet Rosie Stockton that pulls from Stockton’s collection of love poems exploring queer identity in a capitalist society. The title of Christopher Cerrone’s New Addresses was inspired by a collection of Kenneth Koch’s poetry and its three interconnected movements were prompted by one of its poems. Dai Wei’s How the Stars Vanish… was fueled by the composer’s “observation and imagination of the stars.
