The Barber of Seville

April 23–May 15, 2021
Marin Center

Cory Weaver

This spring, live opera returns to the Bay Area with an outdoor, drive-in production of The Barber of Seville, a zany new, 90-minute adaptation of Rossini’s romantic comedy sung in English.

But the drama on stage pales in comparison to the drama going on behind the scenes. See what happens when the hijinks of opera make the leap into real life in this comedy starring Grammy Award-winning baritone Lucas Meachem and real-life couple mezzo-soprano Daniela Mack and tenor Alek Shrader as the torn apart lovers. Roderick Cox conducts this sparkling score with a chamber ensemble from the San Francisco Opera Orchestra.

This live drive-in performance will be held at Marin Center, San Rafael, California.
