Martha Graham Dance Company
Comprised of the “most skilled and powerful dancers you can ever hope to see” (The Washington Post), the Martha Graham Dance Company performs Graham’s iconic and revered work Appalachian Spring, with original music by Aaron Copland, in concert with The Auditions by choreographer Troy Schumacher and Grammy-winning composer Augusta Read Thomas. The Auditions has been designed to resonate with Graham’s classic in celebration of its 75th anniversary. The UW Chamber Orchestra joins the Graham Company for live performances of the exciting orchestral scores by Copland and Thomas.
