American Conservatory Theater opens their 2016-17 Season with Mike Bartlett’s audacious King Charles III. Using Elizabethan stage conventions and Shakespearean verse, Bartlett imagines a future in which Prince Charles ascends to the throne and refuses to rubber-stamp parliamentary bills. Timely and epic, this play was co-produced by Seattle Repertory Theatre and Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC.
